"Mtn" the original!

Originally, it was the two graffiti artists "Moockie" and "Kapi" who planned the project "Montana" together with paint producer "Felton" and Jordi Rubio, a manager at a can producer in 1993. After quite some quarrelling, the first can came to the market in 1994. First the "Hardcore", then the "Alien" in 2001. The brand instantly became popular and Barcelona a melting pot for the European graffiti scene (also because of the then very liberal graffiti art policies). By the end of 1995, the can was also exported to other countries – and that’s when the problems started. In 1997, the German company "L&G" got the exclusive distribution rights for Germany. Later, differences became apparent and a years long legal battle between Montana Spain and Montana Germany ensued, in which the American car finish producer "Dupli Color" and the Swiss company "Farbo" played dubious roles. Eventually, "Montana Spain" and "Montana Germany" broke off their relations. After 2001, the latter brought several own cans to the market, such as "Montana Gold" and "Montana Black". Meanwhile, "Mtn Bercelona" went on to revolutionize the market once again, first with the "94" and recently with the "Hardcore 2". Mtn, the original!
